CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The position requires that the candidate be willing to apply for TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Clearance is not a prerequisite for this position,but; once acquired, it will make the candidate eligible for other systems/software engineering positions.

Position Description:

Junior Systems Engineer position availableto join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a systems engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide Engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year, and work is performed at both the customer site. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, design, integration, administration, and maintenance of dynamic webpages andtheir functionalities through capabilities such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the MEAN Stack; assist in workflow establishment and process improvement; and may be responsible for identifying technical requirements and for drafting or reviewing technical documentation for software; implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities. You will also be working on an Agile team utilizing Jira and will be responsible for tracking tickets during established sprints.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Identifying and establishing new processes and procedures (modernization efforts, process improvement) and having good customer service skills.
  • Data tagging, data formats, data sanitization, data sharing rules/criteria, general dataflow knowledge, and troubleshooting.
  • Providing support to manage the progress of dataflow requests. This includes customer and service provider support/interaction and learning the customer’s need and how it fits intothe larger picture.
  • Measuring and monitoring metrics, identifying trends, documenting deficient resourcing, and reporting standings and findings to management and other stakeholders.
  • Providing support to technical leaders by coordinating activities pertaining to the development, documentation, and maintenance associated with changes to the system.
  • Researching and documenting dataflow processes according to standards of compliance in support of the Enterprise Data Header (EDH) initiatives. Support will include researching, analyzing, documenting, and integrating data identification, protection, tracking, and handling throughout its life cycle.
  • MEAN (Mongo, Express, Angular, Node) Stack Knowledge and/or capability of learning.

Required Skills/Job Duties:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Experience in SharePoint Confluence and Coding/Development.
  • Front-end GUI/ Page Development.
  • HTML, CSSL, and JavaScript usage.

Desired Skills/Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Note: a High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with the PMO.
  • Should be a self-starter.
  • Should have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience in Data tagging, data formats, data sanitization, data sharing rules/criteria, and general dataflow knowledge.
  • The ability to work constructively and successfully with diverse stakeholders to resolve mission and technical issues is critical.
