CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Position Description:
This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; work is performed at the customer site. As an Acquisition Support Systems Engineer on our team, you will provide a broad range of systems engineering support for a customer acquisition program. You will support a government Lead Systems Engineer in the development of requirements over the entire acquisition life cycle, help standardize documentation, and help develop required acquisition milestone decision technical documentation.
Responsibilities also include:
- Decision tracking, cross-thread analysis, configuration management.
- Conduct traceability between each mission need, Required Performance Metric, mission threads/use cases, and associated FRD specifications.
- Provide technical inputs to program Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Technology Readiness Assessments, and program Risk Management plans and activities.
- Ensure consistent implementation of the customers’ systems engineering plan, along with the development of a Test Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
- Establish and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Keep PM informed of cost, schedule, and performance impacts associated with requirements changes and growth.
- Provide systems engineering support to program milestones such as SSR, SFR, PDR, CDR.
- Assist in the preparation of Operational Concepts to describe system and user interactions.
- Support the design, development, and documentation of the program’s architecture.
Required Skills/Job Duties/Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 15 years of systems engineering experience.
- A Master’s or Ph.D. Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Note: a High School Diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Desired Skills:
- A broad experience in systems engineering disciplines, system integration, architecture development, and experience supporting a major system acquisition program.
- A demonstrated ability to work constructively and successfully with diverse stakeholders to resolve mission and technical issues.
- Self-starter with high attention to detail and proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
